This British Standard is the UK implementation of EN ISO 7225:2007+A1:2012. It is identical to ISO 7225:2005, incorporating amendment 1:2012. It supersedes BS EN ISO 7225:2007 which is withdrawn.

The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee PVE/3, Gas containers, to PVE/3/7, Gas containers – Gas cylinder (receptacle) operations.

The UK Committee would like to refer users to subclause 3.5.2(c). In the opinion of the UK committee, users may need to provide further information (specifically, the name and address of the person or company responsible for supplying the filled gas cylinder) to ensure compliance with Regulation 8 of The Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) Regulations 2002, SI 2002/1689. These regulations are based on the European Directives for Dangerous Substances (67/548/EEC) and for Dangerous Preparations (88/379/EEC).
