What is BS EN 62282-4-101 - Safety of electrically powered industrial trucks about?

BS EN 62282-4-101 specifies safety requirements for fuel cell power systems intended to be used in electrically powered industrial trucks. BS EN 62282-4-101 is limited to electrically powered industrial trucks and is applicable to material-handling equipment, e.g., forklifts. BS EN 62282-4-101 applies to gaseous hydrogen-fuelled fuel cell power systems and direct methanol fuel cell power systems for electrically powered industrial trucks.

BS EN 62282-4-101 includes gaseous hydrogen and methanol. BS EN 62282-4-101 covers fuel cell power systems whose fuel source container is permanently attached to either the industrial truck or the fuel cell power system. BS EN 62282-4-101 applies to d.c. type fuel cell power systems, with a rated output voltage not exceeding 150 V d.c. for indoor and outdoor use.

Note: BS EN 62282-4-101 does not include detachable type fuel source containers, hybrid trucks that include an internal combustion engine, reformer-equipped fuel cell power systems, fuel cell power systems intended for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres and fuel storage systems using liquid hydrogen.

Who is BS EN 62282-4-101 - Safety of electrically powered industrial trucks for?

BS EN 62282-4-101 on the safety of electrically powered industrial trucks is useful for:

  • Companies dealing with fuel cell technologies
  • Manufacturers of electrochemical devices
  • Manufacturers of fuel cells
  • Electric power stations
  • Entities involved in the design, maintenance, installation of fuel cell power systems

Why should you use BS EN 62282-4-101 - Safety of electrically powered industrial trucks?

Fuel cell-powered industrial trucks provide benefits over petroleum-powered forklifts as they produce no local emissions and give higher fuel cell power efficiency.

BS EN 62282-4-101 discusses terms and definitions that depict a user-friendly idea of electrically powered industrial trucks. BS EN 62282-4-101 provides construction requirements and performance requirements for safety and type tests that allow users to follow the safety standards with ease. BS EN 62282-4-101 provides users with routine test methods to verify the performance characteristics of electrically powered industrial trucks which ensures their reliability. The guidelines in BS EN 62282-4-101 provide you with standardized safety requirements for fuel cell power systems that enable you to provide a superior quality product.
