BS 1722-12 is the 12th part of the multi-series standard that is applicable to the specification of steel palisade fences. 

BS 1722-12 specifies requirements for steel palisade fences and gates for general purpose (GP) fences for heights up to 2.4 m, and for security purposes (SP) fences for heights of 3 m and 3.6 m, all with posts at 2.75 m centers. BS 1722-12 also covers fences between 2.4 m and 3 m in height with components constructed to the SP specification.
