BS 1722-2 is the second part of the multiple series that specifies requirements for the construction and installation of rectangular wire mesh fences, line wire and dropper strained wire fences and hexagonal wire netting fences.
BS 1722-2 specifies requirements for protective treatment. It empowers the manufacturers to fulfil the demands of the clients by eliminating the unnecessary minor variations in their demands.

BS 1722-2 makes it convenient for the manufacturers to construct and install the pattern strained wire fences and rectangular wire mesh fences. It aims to establish minimum requirements for materials and workmanship for the common types of fences to ensure satisfactory services.
BS 1722-2 also enables installers to examine the presence of any electricity, gas, water, or other underground services to be established prior to commencement of work according to the level of fences. It allows the manufacturer or supplier of fences to provide the installer with a certificate or statement of conforming with the purchase order.
This part of BS 1722:2020 supersedes BS 1722:2006, which is withdrawn.
