Why should you use this standard?
It supplies recommendations that relate to people’s safety when gaining access to and from escalator and moving walk work areas, and while working there.
They also relate to the safety of others present in the vicinity, whether they are working or not, who could be endangered by the actions of those working on escalators and moving walks.
NOTE: This standard applies to people working on all types of escalators and moving walks. However, not every recommendation applies to all types of escalator and moving walk covered by British Standards either published or in preparation.
