IEC 62714 series defines the data exchange format (Automation Markup Language) which is an XML schema-based data format for plant engineering data. Automation Markup Language (AML) is developed to support the data exchange in a heterogeneous engineering tools landscape.
The application of IEC 62714 is industry independent. IEC 62714 is applicable in all industries that require data exchange in their engineering toolchain, e.g., in discrete industry or process industry.
