BS EN 61970 is a series on Energy management system application program interface (EMS-API). Energy management system application program interface is a system of computer-aided tools used by operators of electric utility grids to monitor, control, and optimize the performance of the generation or transmission system. BS EN 61970-453 defines at an abstract level, the content and exchange mechanisms used for data transmitted between control centre components.
Included in BS EN 61970-453 are the general use cases for the exchange of diagram layout data, and guidelines for linking the layout definitions with CIM data. Guidelines for the management of schematic definitions through multiple revisions are also included.
