BS EN 61375 is a European standard that discusses train communication networks (TCN) for electronic railway equipment. BS EN 61375-2-2 is the second subpart of the second part of a multi-part series that applies to all equipment and devices implemented according to IEC 61375-2-1 I.e., it covers the procedures to be applied to such equipment and devices when the conformance should be proven to ensure that a wire train bus meets a defined set of standards and proper protocols.
The applicability of BS EN 61375-2-2 to a TCN implementation allows for individual conformance checking of the implementation itself and is a pre-requisite for further interoperability checking between different TCN implementations.
Note: No other busses are taken into consideration even though they are foreseen by IEC 61375.
BS EN 61375-2-2 on wire train bus conformance testing is useful for:
Wire train bus (WTB) in the train communication network (TCN) offers common network management, that allows debugging, commissioning, and maintenance over the network.
Wire train bus conformance testing ensures that a wire train bus meets a defined set of standards.
BS EN 61375-2-2 provides you with a conformance test approach, requirements, boundaries and conformance assessment process outline for assisting in conformance testing of the wire train bus.
BS EN 61375-2-2 also provides a conformance test of a wire train bus node, wire train bus trunk cable, wire train bus jumper cables, wire train bus extension cables, conformance test of real-time protocols, conformance test of a wire train bus-equipped consist, and conformance test of train network management.
This assists in standardizing and ensuring interoperability among various implementations.
With obedience and compliance to BS EN 61375-2-2, you can improve the efficacy and standardize the performance of the wire train bus.
