BS EN 62115 is an international standard that focuses on safety for electronic toys. BS EN 62115 seeks as far as possible to apply a hazard approach instead of design restrictions for toys.

Toys are required to be accompanied by sufficient information to enable their safe operation. BS EN 62115 contains requirements that toys or their packaging are to be marked with the name and address of the manufacturer or responsible vendor to ensure traceability as well as compliance with certain European directives.
BS EN 62115 was designed to simulate as far as possible normal use conditions as well as instruction on the number of samples to be used and the order in which the tests are to be carried out. Tests are carried out on a single toy in the order of clauses specified BS EN 62115. Furthermore, BS EN 62115 requires that testing be carried out under certain abuse conditions which are foreseeable such as the reversal of the polarity of the primary batteries.
