Why should you use PAS 1882:2021?
This document specifies requirements for the collection, curation, storage and sharing of information during automated vehicle trials and advanced trials in the UK in relation to information collected or received by the system. It covers all automated and co-operative automated driving vehicle trials on any land with public access.
The information requirements relate to data deemed essential to the operation of the automated driving system (ADS). This also includes information the system or Trialling Organization (TO) may receive, generate or hold but which is not used for the direct operation of the vehicle.
In addition to the main information requirements, PAS 1882:2021 includes recommendations for additional information that a TO should seek to collect, if possible.
PAS 1882:2021 is the first standard to be published on a system-based approach for incident investigation in automated vehicles. Information gathered could also significantly help criminal and civil investigations as well as provide a valuable source for fact-finding safety organizations.
