BS EN 13830:2015+A1:2020

What is BS EN 13830 about?  

BS EN 13830 discusses the requirements of a curtain walling kit that is intended to be used as a building envelope to provide weather resistance, safety in use, and energy economy and heat retention. BS EN 13830 is an international standard for specifying the product standard for curtain walling. 

BS EN 13830 specifies tests, assessments, calculation methods, and compliance criteria for the performance of the curtain walling kit. 

BS EN 13830 applies to curtain walling kit ranging from a vertical position to ± 15° from the vertical which is intended to be used as a part of building envelope. 

Note 1: Under BS EN 13830 patent glazing kits, roof glazing constructions and façades made of precast concrete panels as part of the wall are not covered. 

Note 2: BS EN 13830 does not cover the durability of the structural sealed glazing infill. 

Note 3: BS EN 13830 applies to the whole of the curtain walling kits, including the fixings.
