BS EN ISO 6149 is a series on hydraulic fluid power. Hydraulic fluid power is the use of fluids under pressure to generate, control, and transmit power. BS EN ISO 6149-1 specifies dimensions for metric ports for use with the adjustable and non-adjustable stud ends as described.
Ports in accordance with BS EN ISO 6149-1 can be used at working pressures up to 63 MPa [630 bar1)] for non-adjustable stud ends and 40 MPa (400 bar) for adjustable stud ends. The permissible working pressure depends upon the port size, materials, design, working conditions, application, etc.
BS EN ISO 6149-1 on hydraulic fluid power is applicable to:
In hydraulic fluid power systems, power is transmitted and controlled through a liquid under pressure within an enclosed circuit. In general applications, a fluid (liquid or gas) may be conveyed under pressure. Components are connected through their threaded ports by fluid conductor connectors to tubes and pipes or to hose connectors and hoses. For threaded ports and stud ends specified in new designs in hydraulic fluid power applications BS EN ISO 6149-1 can be used because these International Standards specify ports and stud ends with metric threads and O-ring sealing and because the subcommittee would like to help users by recommending one preferred system. Implementing BS EN ISO 6149-1, power transmission and controlling through a liquid under pressure within an enclosed circuit can be carried out.
Ports like pumps, motors, valves, cylinders can be connected through their threaded ports by fluid conductor connectors to tubes and pipes or to hose connectors and hoses to their respective components for a better and smooth fluid pumping. Using BS EN ISO 6149-1 you can specify dimensions for metric ports for use with the adjustable and non-adjustable stud ends.
BS EN ISO 6149-1:2019 supersedes BS EN ISO 6149-1:2007. BS EN ISO 6149-1:2019 includes a technical change with respect to BS EN ISO 6149-1:2007:
