BS EN 10205 is a European standard on cold reduced tinmill products that discusses the criteria for manufacturing blackplate. BS EN 10205 specifies requirements for black plate products in the form of coils intended for direct use and mostly for the production of tinplate, electrolytically chromium/chromium oxide plate (ECCS), and electrolytically zinc-coated plate.
Black plate is specified in nominal thicknesses that are multiples of 0,005 mm from typical 0,10 mm up to 0,60mm.
BS EN 10205 applies to coils in nominal minimum widths of 600 mm.
In addition to BS EN 10205, the general technical delivery conditions of EN 10021 apply
NOTE: Standard width coils for specific uses, eg tab stock, can be slit into the narrow strip for supply in coil form.
BS EN 10205 on Cold reduced tinmill products – Blackplate is relevant to:
Tinmill steel products are light-gauge carbon steel products that are coated in tin, coated in chrome, or uncoated They included Electrolytic Tinplate (ETP), Tin Coated Sheet (TCS), Tin Free Steel / Electrolytic Chrome Coated Steel (TFS/ECCS), and Tin mill Black plate (TMBP).
BS EN 10205 navigates you through the classification and designation, steelmaking process, chemical composition, and deoxidation, surface characteristics, mechanical properties, tolerances on dimensions and shape, inspection and sampling, testing procedures, and types of documents.
BS EN 10205 exemplifies the required dimensions, chemical composition, and mechanical properties that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification.
As a user of BS EN 10205, you can be ensured of all the requirements for manufacturing blackplate. With obedience and compliance to BS EN 10205, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality black plate products in the form of coils. BS EN 10205 helps you to build consumer trust and confidence in the product. With BS EN 10205 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets. BS EN 10205 provides you with comprehensive information useful throughout the process of production.
