BS ISO 334:2020

What is ISO 334 about?  

ISO 334 specifies a reference method for determining the total sulfur content of hard coal, brown coals and lignites, and coke by the Eschka method. 

ISO 334 provides information on eschka mixture which is used in determining sulfur content in coal 

Who is ISO 334 for?  

ISO 334 on the Eschka method is beneficial for:  

• Coal producer 
• Coal testing laboratory  

Why should you use ISO 334?  

The Eschka method is used for determining the total sulfur content of hard coal, brown coals and lignites.  

ISO 334 provide guidance on eschka mixture, apparatus, preparation of the test sample, test procedure, test report required to determine total sulfur content by eschka method. 

As a user of ISO 334, you can be ensured of the total sulfur content in coal. ISO 334 helps the user in performing the eschka method efficiently. ISO 334 assist the user in producing good-quality low-sulfur coal which reduces emission when coal is burned. 

What’s changed since the last update?  

BS ISO 334:2020 supersedes BS ISO 334:2013, which is withdrawn.
