BS EN ISO 14644-6:2007 Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments. Vocabulary
Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments provide for the control of airborne particulate contamination to levels appropriate for accomplishing contamination-sensitive activities. Products and processes that benefit from the control of airborne contamination include those in the aerospace, microelectronic, pharmaceutical, medical device, food, and healthcare industries.
In some of these industries, the product or process can be sensitive to, or can be destroyed by, molecular contamination resulting from airborne molecules that are present due to external, process, or otherwise generated sources.
BS EN ISO 14644 Part 6 establishes a vocabulary of terms and definitions related to cleanrooms and associated controlled environments. This part of BS EN ISO 14644 is a compendium of the terms and definitions given in the other parts of BS EN ISO 14644. It also includes the terms and definitions given in BS EN ISO 14698-1 and BS EN ISO 14698-2.
