BS EN 17333 series discusses the characterization of one component foam BS EN 17333-3 is the third part of a series of documents
specifies test methods for the evaluation of the application properties for moisture curing, self-curing activatable, or water drying foams dispensed from single pressurized foam containers.
BS EN 17333-3 describes the following methods:
1) Cutting time: This test method describes how to determine the hardening time of a dispended froth until it could be cut
2) Tack free time: This test method describes how to determine the tack free time of a freshly foamed OCF
3) Sagging: This test methods describes how to evaluate the sagging behaviour and determine the biggest joint possible before dispensed froth slips off.Note: BS EN 17333-3 does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this document to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory requirements prior to use.
BS EN 17333-3 on characterization of one component foam is useful for:
One component foam is a self-adhesive, self-expanding, moisture-curing, gap filling material. Because of the increasing usage of one component foam in gap fills for doors, windows, roofs, and ceilings, it is now appropriate for construction projects.
BS EN 17333-3 will help you in dispensing the liquid foam in beads on a horizontal surface. These beads are cut after curing, this is done with the help of the cutting time method. The tack-free method is useful for you in touching the beads with the help of a small rod or adapter tube. BS EN 17333-3 helps in evaluating sagging behaviour and helps in sustaining the one component foam OCF in different climatic conditions. This sagging method helps in determining the biggest joint possible before dispensed froth slips off.
BS EN 17333-3 specifies the test methods along with the test equipment and test procedures which will help you in performing the tests on one component foam. And aids in the improvement of the efficiency and durability of one component foam.
