BS EN 197‑2 is the second part of the BS EN 197 series of documents that specifies the scheme for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of cement, including certification of constancy of performance.
BS EN 197‑2 provides technical rules for factory production control, further testing of samples taken at the manufacturing plant (auto control testing) and assessment of the performance of the cement, initial inspection of the manufacturing plant and of factory production control, continuing surveillance, assessment and evaluation of factory production control and audit-testing of samples. BS EN 197‑2 also provides rules for actions to be followed in the event of non-conformity and requirements for depots.
The guidelines given in the Technical Report CEN/TR 14245 contain information for the application of BS EN 197‑2.
BS EN 197‑2 on the constancy of performance of cement is useful for:
The constancy of performance is the document issued under the rules of the scheme for the AVCP indicating that adequate confidence is provided that the cement conforms to the performance(s) declared in accordance with the relevant product standard.
BS EN 197‑2 provides the general requirements on the factory production control of cement production and internal quality control.
BS EN 197‑2 gives the procedure for certification of constancy of performance of cement which gives information regarding the works' quality, quality management system, and internal quality control.
Also, gives the assessment of the performance of the cement during the initial period of the cement.
Overall, BS EN 197‑2 helps you in the AVCP of cement and if is satisfactory, the certificate of constancy of performance of the product remains valid.
BS EN 197‑2:2020 supersedes BS EN 197‑2:2014. BS EN 197‑2:2020 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 197‑2:2014. These include:
