BS EN 60730-2 is a series European standard that discusses automatic electrical controls for households and similar use. BS EN 60730-2-10 is the 10th part of the multi-series standard that provides requirements for motor-starting relays.
BS EN 60730-2-10 applies to controls for automatically controlling the starting windings of single-phase motors associated with equipment for household and similar use.
BS EN 60730-2-10 applies to motor-starting relays using NTC or PTC thermistors, additional requirements for which are contained in Annex J.
BS EN 60730-2-10 applies to the inherent safety, to the operating values, operating times, and operating sequences where such are associated with equipment safety, and to the testing of motor-starting relays used in, or in association with, household or similar equipment.
BS EN 60730-2-10 applies to starting relays incorporating electronic devices and starting relays using thermistor elements, thermal elements, and magnetic elements.
BS EN 60730-2-10 applies to manual controls when such are electrically and/or mechanically integral with starting relays.
Note1: Motor-starting relays for equipment not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be used by the public, such as equipment intended to be used by non-professionals in shops, in light industry, and on farms, are within the scope of BS EN 60730-2-10.
Note2: BS EN 60730-2-10 does not apply to motor-starting relays designed exclusively for industrial applications.
Note3: BS EN 60730-2-10 does not apply to general purpose relays or to contactors and motor starters of the type covered by the IEC 60947 series1. BS EN 60730-2-10 does not apply to mechanical timers or mechanically operated motor-starting devices.
BS EN 60730-2-10 on particular requirements for motor-starting relays is useful for:
The main purpose of this starting relay is to bring in an additional electrical circuit, giving the motor the extra torque, it requires to start.
BS EN 60730-2-10 applies to the inherent safety, to the operating values, operating times, and operating sequences where such are associated with equipment safety, and to the testing of electric actuators used in or in association with equipment.
BS EN 60730-2-10 specifies requirements for motor-starting relays of automatic electrical controls which is helps for higher axial force, high accuracy, low noise, flexibility through control characteristics, load stiffness, and overall lower operating costs.
BS EN 60730-2-10 specifies safety requirements for motor-starting relays that provide protection against electric shock and helps to prevent injuries.
BS EN 60730-2-10 provides requirements for motor-starting relays that help you during manufacturing motor-starting relays with superior quality. BS EN 60730-2-10 provides requirements for motor-starting relays that affect their intended operation that help you to determine the performance of motor-starting relays.
