BS ISO 16355-1:2021

What is ISO 16355-1 about?  

ISO 16355-1 is the first part of the ISO 16355 multi-series. This International multi-series focuses on the application of statistical and related methods to new technology and product development process. ISO 16355-1 describes the quality function deployment (QFD) process, its purpose, users, and tools.  

Users of ISO 16355-1 will include all organization functions necessary to assure customer satisfaction, including business planning, marketing, sales, research and development (R&D), engineering, information technology (IT), manufacturing, procurement, quality, production, service, packaging and logistics, support, testing, regulatory, and other phases in hardware, software, service, and system organizations. 

Note: ISO 16355-1 does not provide requirements or guidelines for organizations to develop and systematically manage their policies, processes, and procedures to achieve specific objectives.

BS ISO 16355-1:2021 supersedes BS ISO 16355-1:2015. BS ISO 16355-1:2021 includes some technical changes concerning BS ISO 16355-1:2015. These include: 

• Throughout the text, addition of relevant informative references to the other parts in the ISO 16355 series, which are also added to the Bibliography.
