BS EN 755 is a series of European standards on aluminium and aluminium alloys that discusses the best procedures and specifications required for manufacturing high-quality aluminium products. BS EN 755-2 is the second part of a series of documents on aluminium and aluminium alloys. BS EN 755-2 specifies the mechanical property limits resulting from tensile testing applicable to aluminium and aluminium alloy extruded rod/bar, tube and profile.
Technical conditions for inspection and delivery, including product and testing requirements, are specified in EN 755-1. Temper designations are defined in EN 515. The chemical composition limits for these materials are given in EN 573-3.
BS EN 755-2 on aluminium and aluminium alloys is relevant to:
Aluminium profiles are used wherever you build machine frames, workstations, shelves or guarding. Sturdy and flexible aluminium system profiles are also used for test set-ups, exhibit construction and load-bearing structures.
BS EN 755-2 specifies the mechanical property limits relating to aluminium extrusions and agreed between supplier and purchaser. BS EN 755-2 takes into consideration new materials and includes the most updated mechanical limits resulting from tensile testing aluminium and aluminium alloy extruded rod/bar, tube and profile.
As a user of BS EN 755-2, you can be ensured of mechanical property limits of aluminium and aluminium alloys. With obedience and compliance to BS EN 755-2, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality aluminium extruded rod/bar, tube, and profiles. BS EN 755-2 helps you to build consumer trust and confidence in the product. With BS EN 755-2 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets
BS EN 755-2:2016 supersedes BS EN 755-2:2013 which is withdrawn.
CEN/TC 132 decided to revise EN 755-2:2013 as follows:
