BS EN 17344 is a standard that serves technical specifications for braking in agricultural machinery especially self-propelled agricultural and forestry vehicles. BS EN 17344 applies to wheeled and/or track-laying self-propelled agricultural and forestry vehicles when used on public roads.
BS EN 17344 specifies the definitions, construction and performance requirements and the means for verification of braking systems on vehicles with a maximum design speed not exceeding 60 km/h.
Note: NWY does not apply to -
BS EN 17344 on braking requirements for agricultural vehicles is applicable to:
Effective braking systems are paramount in 2-wheel tractors, 4-wheel tractors, harvesters and forestry vehicles as the size and speed of these machinery have increased substantially. Effective braking system have characteristics such as heat dissipation and rapid deceleration.
BS EN 17344 provides you application for braking systems for on-road use, installed on self-propelled agricultural and forestry machinery.
BS EN 17344 provides you technical information regarding braking which includes construction requirements, brake testing and performance, pneumatic braking system, hydraulic braking system and test reports which allows you to improve the braking performance of the agricultural vehicles and ensuring the safety of end-users.
