BS EN 9107 standardizes requirements for the “direct delivery” of articles from a Production Organization (PO).
The scope is limited to the commercial aerospace industry where a request is made for a PO to have Direct Delivery Authorization (DDA), which includes an Appropriate Arrangement (AA) between the PO and the Design Organization (DO). In this process, the DO is responsible for ensuring the continuous updating of design and airworthiness data to the PO, whilst the PO is responsible for assurance that the manufactured article conforms to the approved design and airworthiness data. The PO is responsible for providing airworthiness release documentation.
BS EN 9107 provides guidance to a PO and DO on how to comply with the DDA, including AA requirements.
BS EN 9107 on Quality Management System is applicable to:
BS EN 9107 standardizes quality management system requirements to the greatest extent possible and can be used at all levels of the supply chain by organizations around the world.
Adopting BS EN 9107 results in improved quality, cost and delivery performance through the reduction or elimination of organization-unique requirements, effective implementation of the quality management system and wider application of good practice. While primarily developed for the aviation, space and defence industry, BS EN 9107 can also be used in other industry sectors when a quality management system with additional requirements over an EN ISO 9001 system is needed.
For assuring customer satisfaction, the aviation, space, and defence industry organizations must produce and continually improve safe, reliable products that meet or exceed customer and regulatory authority requirements. By adopting BS EN 9107 you can achieve this objective.
