BS EN 3567-001 is a European Standard that specifies the electrical, mechanical, and environmental characteristics, test methods, test groups and quality assurance for in-line couplers and other components used in the composition of the transmission lines of multiplex data bus systems in accordance with MIL-STD-1553B.
These couplers may be used at operating temperatures of -65°C to 150°C or 200°C and at altitudes up to 30000 m or an altitude as defined in the product standard.
BS EN 3567-001 on the technical specification for in-line couplers is useful for:
An inline coupler connects to one end of a cable and allows the same type of cable to be plugged into its other side, forming a seamless connection between the two. It’s the ideal way to “lengthen” a cable run. Otherwise, you’d have to cut the connectors off of each cable and splice the two cables together, or as mentioned earlier, buy a longer cable.
BS EN 3567-001 provides you guidelines on the dimensions, mass, marking, delivery conditions, packaging and storage of in-line couplers.
BS EN 3567-001 also provides you with requirements and tests that assist in testing and evaluating in-line couplers to enhance their performance.
BS EN 3567-001 assists you with conditions of qualification, sampling, qualification tests, maintenance of qualification and acceptance conditions.
This assists you in evaluating whether the in-line couplers manufactured comply with all the required qualification checks to qualify as a high standard product for use in bus systems.
By using BS EN 3567-001, you can enhance the efficacy of couplers and manufacture a standardized product.
