BS EN 2591-326 is a European Standard that specifies a method of determining a component’s resistance to a liquid-fuelled fire and the elements of connection.
BS EN 2591-326 shall be used together with EN 2591-100.
BS EN 2591-326 on fire immersion test is applicable to:
Fire immersion test are carried out for verifying the ability of a couple of connectors installed in the same area to sustain a fire for at least 5 min, without electrical discontinuity.
Fire containment test are carried out for verifying the ability of a couple of connectors installed on a wall dividing 2 areas, to sustain a fire for at least 5 min, without electrical discontinuity and to contain the flame on the side exposed to fire for 20 min.
BS EN 2591‑326 guides you on the test methods and requirements for fire immersion tests.
BS EN 2591-326 covers all the requirements for elements of the electrical and optical connection. It creates a standardized approach for manufacturers to adhere to if they supply their metallic materials to the aerospace and defence industry.
By adopting BS EN 2591-326, you can demonstrate the reliability of their elements of electrical and optical connection and build trust in its use throughout the aerospace supply chain.
