BS EN 4612-005 specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable jacket, tin-plated copper conductor, electrical cables, Crosslinked Ethylene Tetra Fluoro Ethylene co-polymer XLETFE family for use in the onboard electrical systems of aircraft at operating temperatures between – 65 °C and 135 °C operating at voltages not exceeding 600 V RMS at sea level.
This insulation system has been used in aerospace applications using 115 V (phase-to-neutral) 400 Hz ac and 28 Vdc. Verification of the suitability of cables for use in other electrical systems is the responsibility of the user. These cables are suitable for airframe use without additional protection.
Note: In case of conflict between BS EN 4612-005 and other referenced documents, the requirements of BS EN 4612-005 shall take precedence.
BS EN 4612-005-on jacketed or screened and jacketed cables is useful for:
BS EN 4612005 provides requirements for materials and construction for jacketed cables, which helps you ensure that the jacketed insulation cables will withstand high temperatures.
BS EN 4612005 also provides the color coding for the jackets so that the purchaser can know which jacket should be purchased as per the need. BS EN 4612005 helps verify the suitability of cables for use in other electrical systems.
