BS EN 2267-010 specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable electrical lightweight wires DR family for use in the onboard up to 115 V (phase to neutral) or 200 V (phase to phase) AC and 28 Vdc and electrical systems of aircraft at operating temperatures between − 65 °C and 260 °C. These cables are demonstrated to be arc-resistant in sizes AWG 26 to 14 (115/200 Vac).
In addition, these cables may be suitable for use up to 230/400 Vac in pressurized zones only when installed to take account of possible short circuit effects.
BS EN 2267-010 on DR family, single and multicore assembly cables is useful for:
Aerospace electrical cables sustain intense vibration during take-off, flight, and landing, while also being subject to harsh environmental conditions. Cable faults cost money and create disruption, so there is an enormous demand for cable test techniques to ensure cables and joints are in good condition.
BS EN 2267-010 provides information about materials and construction of conductors and insulators and provides instruction on the colour coding of cores.
Also, BS EN 2267-010 specifies quality assurance, designation, marking, packaging, and storing of cables, helping you to maintain high quality of cables.
