BS EN 14848 discusses aerosol containers. BS EN 14848 specifies the critical dimensions of valve cups suitable for clinching into 25,4 mm aperture metal aerosol containers. BS EN 14848 applies to aperture metal aerosol containers which are used with the metal aerosol containers by EN 14847 and EN 15006.
Note 1: BS EN 14848 does not specify dimples on aperture metal aerosol containers.

Valve cups are a critical feature of aerosol containers. BS EN 14848 provides specific dimensions of valve cups that are recognized as critical in respect of closure efficiency. They are important to the manufacturer in process control and the filler for incoming goods inspection and ultimately clinch setting and control.
Cups in tinplate, black plate, stainless steel, aluminium, and aluminium alloys are permitted by this standard. But it is emphasized that the dimensions are independent of the material.
