BS EN 1007-7 is a European Standard. BS EN 1007-7 is the 7th part of BS EN 1007 series on advanced technical ceramic. BS EN 1007-7 contains definitions, apparatus, test machine, load chains, temperature measurement, test procedures, and much more.
BS EN 1007-7 applies to tows of continuous ceramic filaments, which are assumed to act freely and independently under loading and behave linearly elastic up to failure.
BS EN 1007-7 specifies the conditions, apparatus and procedure for determining the distribution of tensile strength and tensile strain to failure of ceramic filaments in multifilament tows at high temperature in air, vacuum or a controlled inert atmosphere.
BS EN 1007-7 applies to tows of continuous ceramic filaments, which are assumed to act freely and independently under loading and show elasticity up to failure. BS EN 1007-7 outlines two methods: 1) hot-end method and 2) cold-end method.
Note 1: The application of the hot end method is restricted by ceramic glues with sufficient shear strengths at the test temperature. Current experience with the hot end method is limited to 1300 °C, because of the maximum application temperature of ceramic glues.
Note 2: The cold end method is limited to 1700 °C in air and 2000 °C in inert atmosphere because of the limits of furnaces.
Note 3: Both methods allow for a failure rate in the determination of distribution of tensile strain and tensile strength.
BS EN 1007-7 on distribution of tensile strength is useful for:
Advanced ceramics are used in critical applications in the electrical and medical industries. This includes their important role in the development of ventilators, making it critical to adhere to the best industry standards. Advanced ceramics also have a wide range of properties. Their diverse use makes it extremely important to ensure their standardization.
BS EN 1007-7 specifies the conditions, apparatus and procedure for determining the distribution of tensile strength and tensile strain to failure of ceramic filaments in multifilament tows at high temperature in air, vacuum or a controlled inert atmosphere.
BS EN 1007-7 assures standardized and accurate measurement of strain directly on the tow helping you achieve the correct analysis. BS EN 1007-7 also assures the optimum distribution ratio as per the ideal temperature.
Referring to BS EN 1007-7 can prevent hazards and ensure optimum reliability and best industrial practices.EN 1007-7:2010
