BS EN 1007-6 is a European Standard. BS EN 1007-6 is the 6th part of BS EN 1007 series on advanced technical ceramic. BS EN 1007-6 specifies the methods of testing for reinforcements and determining tensile properties of filaments at high temperature.
BS EN 1007-6 includes two methods that are proposed. These methods depend on the temperature of the filament end. The methods are: 1. Hot End Method 2. Cold end method.
BS EN 1007-6 contains definitions, apparatus, test machine, methods, test specimens and procedures, and much more. BS EN 1007-6 also includes annexes which contain principles of methods.
Note 1: Current experience with the hot end method is limited to 1300 °C, because of the application temperature of ceramic glue.
Note 2: The cold end method is limited to 1 700 °C in air and 2 000 °C in inert atmosphere because of the limits of furnaces.
