Mott MacDonald, a global, employee-owned, engineering, management and development consultancy, received the BSI Standards Users Environmental Impact Award.
This reflected its long-standing commitment to carbon reduction through the application of PAS 2080.
By embedding a whole-life carbon management approach across its work, the organisation has created a consistent framework that informs decision-making at every stage of a project. This approach has supported measurable environmental improvements across its global portfolio.
Mott MacDonald has also played a wider role in shaping industry practice. As a co-author of PAS 2080, it has contributed to the development of the standard itself, helping to shape how carbon management is approached across the infrastructure sector.
The award recognises both its internal achievements and its ongoing contribution to advancing best practice more broadly.
The BSI Standards Users Leadership Award was presented to Louise McMahon of Kier Infrastructure, in recognition of her work embedding standards into the organisation in a way that is both practical and far-reaching.
She has brought together multiple internationally recognised standard like ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 19650 and 4400, into a single, integrated system. This now supports the work of more than 6,000 people as they design, build and maintain essential infrastructure across the aviation, energy, environment, highways, nuclear, ports, rail, telecoms and water sectors.
This has helped create a shared way of working across the organisation, where standards are part of everyday processes rather than something separate from them.
Her leadership on complex, multi-partner programmes has also demonstrated how standards can provide a common foundation for collaboration, helping different organisations work together more effectively.
Winning for the third time, PAT-iT Ltd was awarded the BSI Standards Users Small Business Impact Award. This was recognition for how it has embedded standards into its electrical safety and PAT testing services.
By applying relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice, this portable appliance testing and inspection company ensures its work is delivered consistently and in line with recognised best practice.
For a smaller organisation, this standards-led approach has enabled PAT-iT to compete confidently with larger providers, build long-term customer trust, and support sustainable growth.
Large or small, global or local, each of these winners share a clear commitment to applying standards thoughtfully and consistently in their specific context.
Whether it’s improving environmental outcomes, strengthening collaboration, or underpinning high-quality service delivery, standards are having a clear impact. Congratulations on your well-deserved awards.
