How do I know if my organization is a member? Get in touch and we’ll look up your organization’s Membership status.

Can I use the BSI logo now that I’m a member? Members cannot use the BSI logo. However we do provide a personalized Membership certificate and digital Membership badge that you can use. These give a clear statement about your commitment to working to the very highest standards.  Contact us to request a copy of your certificate or digital badge.

Can I download a standard immediately and pay later? Yes, as a member you can register to pay by invoice. The BSI Membership Administrator for your organization can email our Customer Service Team with the name and email addresses of up to ten users for pay-by-invoice purchasing rights.

Can I look at standards before I buy them? We’re able to offer members a short session to view our online catalogue on request. Please get in touch with the Knowledge Centre if you’d like to try it, on knowledgecentre@bsigroup.com or +44 20 8996 7004

How do I renew our Membership? Your renewal notice will be sent to your Membership Administrator 60 days before your renewal date. An invoice will then be sent either by email if we have an e-invoicing address, or to the Membership Administrator. You can pay by BACS transfer or credit card by calling us on +44 345 086 9001

Who is my Membership Administrator? This is usually the person who originally signed up to membership. They are responsible for:

  • Authorizing and requesting users to order on the shop and pay by invoice

  • Requesting additional accounts to purchase using the organization’s Membership

  • Updating any contact details for the Membership

  • Receiving the Membership certificate and digital badge

  • Nominating a representative from the company to vote at the BSI AGM

  • Sharing information about Membership with others in your organization who might benefit from it.

How do I change the Membership Administrator or AGM contact for my organization? To nominate a new Membership Administrator, or nominate a representative to vote at the AGM, please get in touch with the contact details for the new contact.

Does BSI Membership include access to British Standards? Not directly, but members do get 50% off British Standards, 50% off BSI Knowledge Subscription which gives access to our library of standards, and 50% off Compliance Navigator for medical device manufacturers.

What are the benefits of Membership? We support members to implement standards and embed best practice. Members have exclusive access to practical tools, insights and support, all aiming to save you time and help your organization to perform.

  • Our Member Enquiry Service helps you to research and understand the standards that are relevant to you.

  • We can also offer a try-before-you-buy session on our online library to help you find the right standard.

  • For many members, the BSI Membership certificate and digital membership badge are valuable assets that they use to build their reputation and stand out from the competition.

  • Members get 50% off British Standards, BSI Knowledge subscriptions and BSI Compliance Navigator. For other foreign standards the member discount is 10%.

  • Every BSI Membership organization has a vote at our Annual General Meeting; we encourage you to attend, meet other members and hear more about what we do. You can also get involved in standards development through our network of specialist committees which publish about 2,500 new standards per year.

What is the PLUS Private Listing Update Service and how do I use it? The Private List Updating Service (PLUS) is a service for members only, which automatically delivers the latest print edition of your standards when they’re revised or replaced. All you need to do is submit the list of standards you want tracked and then leave the rest to us. We’ll check your standards are up to date, and send you the latest editions when they become available.

The PLUS service is ideal for standards users who prefer their standards as paper copies. If you need to keep up to date and prefer to view standards online then a BSI Knowledge Subscription will provide you with digital tracking capabilities.

Are BSI certification and BSI Membership the same thing? No. Whilst both show your commitment to excellence and add credibility to your organisation, certification goes a step further to prove your conformity to a specific standard through a series of audits.
